Description

Grapes: Catarratto and Chardonnay, 13% Alc

6 Months aged Sur Lie in Stainless Steel. No Oak

Precision viticulture and respectful enology are emblems of the Di Gaetano family's production philosophy which has, among its firstborns, Santagostino Baglio Sorìa Bianco, a label that has raised Firriato's prestige and reputation to the four corners of the world. It is a blend of Catarratto, the most widespread native white grape variety in Sicily, and Chardonnay, the international alloctonoum that has best adapted to the island. The endowment of the mineral elements from the Baglio Sorìa lands blend in a balanced way with the freshness of the floral and fruity scents of Catarratto and the rich bouquet with the complex body given by the fermentation in Chardonnay barrels. The result is a wine of character, sophisticated and elegant.

Smooth versatile white from western Sicily

Late summer wheat color. Modest bouquet of flowers and pear, a touch of stone. The pear carries over to flavor, complimented by melon. Catarratto lightens Chardonnay. Medium body and aftertaste. Very little acidity. Good pairing with white fish, pasta, and shrimp. Excellent with milder cheese.
A refined pleasure at a modest price.
