Bodegas Familia Bastida 'Alceo' Tempranillo, Castilla La Mancha, Spain 2017
Alceo -”Alceo” means Perseus. In Greek mythology, Perseus, the legendary founder of Mycenae and of the Perseid dynasty of Danaans, was, alongside Cadmus and Bellerophon, the greatest Greek hero and slayer of monsters before the days of Heracles.
Tasting notes: Bright but very dark ruby color. Closed initially but opens with aeration into red berry and floral aromas. Raspberry, cherry, and spice cake flavors with notes of five spice powder. Concentrated with sweet tannins in the long finish.
