Casanuova di Nittardi Chianti Classico is a pure Sangiovese from the single vineyard “Vigna Doghessa” in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti. The vineyard lies on a south-east facing hill at 450 meters above sea level and has a soil full of schist stones, which engenders the wine with a fine minerality and pleasant freshness.

Art of the Label; Günter Grass or Dario 
Fo create the label and wrapping paper. For the 2021 
vintage, the 41st edition, the Academy Award-winning 
director, producer and screenwriter James Ivory created 
the artworks. Since his days as a student in the USA during 
the late 40‘s, he has had a passion for visual art. As the 
two collages created for the label and wrapping paper 
demonstrate, that passion has never been more alive.

Nice wine

Corked our first bottle and enjoyed it with both a red sauce, chicken parm. and French sauce, haddock French. It would be safe to say that this Chianti is a big win! Started and finished just right for our pallet. Good price for a B.C. bottle.
