Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC, 2023 Rosa-ae by Torre dei Beati

  • $18.99

Description

100 % Montepulciano grapes

The 2021 Vintage was rated the Best Rose' in Italy.

It has aspects of a Rose' and a Red Wine. A wonderful wine

VINIFICATION: partially from bleeding, part
from a white vinification of the whole bunches,
part from a maceration with the skins at cold
temperature. Fermentation in steel at 15-16o C
AGEING: Steel

The typical, bright, violet shaded cherry color and the visual perception of good density, are followed by fresh and rich
flavors of strawberry, pomegranate and cherry, enriched by elegant flowers among which the rose is emerging.
The volume is full and well balanced between the smoothness, due also to the alcohol, and the good acidity and minerality, making long the mouth persistence and stimulating the final. The peculiar character makes the wine very pleasant and flexible in meeting several kinds of dishes, ranging from Italian antipasti to traditional first courses, like noodles with tomato sauce or legumes and grain-based soups, to main courses of white meat, pizza. Perfect with the “Brodetto alla vastese”, a traditional abruzzese stewed seafood.

A good introduction to Cerasuolo D’Abruzzo

Hats off to WinesFromItaly for stocking this wine. Cerasuolo has been Abruzzo’s best kept secret but is finally coming into its own as wine lovers explore different grapes and rosés of every type and weight.

Cerasuolo is no one’s shrinking violet: it won’t be mistaken for the delicate and light rose from Provence. It’s bigger-bodied with a more pronounced flavor (and color) profile. This is Cerasuolo’s selling point: this is an extremely versatile wine that’s fresh and pleasant enough to pair with various Salume e formaggi, but also hefty enough that it makes a perfect accompaniment with seafood and light meats.

This Cerasuolo is as good a place to dive in as any. Nice, midweight and with a candy-cherry color. Fresh taste profile.
Torre dei Beati is one of Abruzzo’s best known wineries and continually wins prizes for their wines. Enjoy!

Great Bottle!

Experienced this wine in a restaurant - had to track it down & was lucky to find it here... Smooth wine, served chilled not too fruity or tannin, just something different to accompany the evening.

Amazing Rose’

I been looking for a big and deep rose’. This wine is beautiful. Big and full of flavor of summer. Fruit up front with the right amount of acidity.
