Rated 95 Points by James Suckling
Grape: 100% Sangiovese (the only grape allowed in Brunello).
Fermentation: Long maceration to extract color and structure.
Aging: About 24 months in oak barrels followed by additional bottle aging before release. This extended aging is required for Brunello DOCG and contributes to the wine’s complexity and aging potential.
Aromas: wild cherry, plum, raspberry, violets, dried rose, cedar, and spice.
Palate: vibrant red fruit, lively acidity, and silky but structured tannins.
95 Points Winespectator
Secondary notes: herbs, white pepper, leather, and subtle earth as it evolves.
The wine is full-bodied yet elegant, with a long, refined finish.
Vintage Quality: 2021 is considered an excellent vintage in Montalcino, thanks to balanced weather that allowed slow, even ripening of Sangiovese.
Critics have awarded it around 95–96 points from major reviewers like Vinous and Wine Advocate.
Food Pairing: This style of Brunello pairs well with grilled steak or ribeye, wild game or venison, mushroom risotto and aged cheeses like Pecorino Toscano
Aging Potential: Drink now with decanting, but it can age 10–20+ years, gaining notes of leather, tobacco, and dried herbs over time.
