$180.00
Regular price $120.00Nizza is the name of the highest expression of the Barbera grape.
Nizza DOCG is an appellation on Monferrato in Piedmont, Italy. The wines are made specifically from Barbera grapes. The DOCG was created in 2014. There are 603 acres of Nizza vineyards
Location:
The Nizza zone covers a relatively large and hilly area immediately south of Asti town, and around the town of Nizza Monferrato, for which it is named.
Vintage: 2020
92 Pts James Suckling
A structured Barbera with ripe red fruit and nutty oak character to the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with the same balance of fruit and oak to start, but the oak expands as the palate progresses, adding a tannin feel and more and more savory notes. Feels a little raw just now but should meld together nicely with a year or two in bottle. Try from 2025.
This Reserve is produced exclusively in the best vintages.
Organoleptic characteristics
Colour: intense purple-red.
Bouquet: rich and complex, with notes of red and black berries. Vanilla is persistent, but also caramel and coconut.
Taste: elegant and well-balanced with a pleasant and persistent note of blueberry and coffee.
Information data
Grape Variety: Barbera
Alcohol Content: 15.0 % vol.
Denomination: Nizza DOCG Reserve
MATURATION: in barriques for 12 months and a further 12 months in large barrels
