Location

The Nizza zone covers a relatively large and hilly area immediately south of Asti town, and around the town of Nizza Monferrato, for which it is named.

 

Vintage 2020  92 Pts James Suckling
A structured Barbera with ripe red fruit and nutty oak character to the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with the same balance of fruit and oak to start, but the oak expands as the palate progresses, adding a tannin feel and more and more savory notes. Feels a little raw just now, but should meld together nicely with a year or two in bottle. Try from 2025.
This Reserve is produced exclusively in the best vintages.

 

Organoleptic characteristics
  • COLOUR: intense purple-red.
  • BOUQUET: rich and complex, with notes of red and black berries. Vanilla is persistent, but also caramel and coconut.
  • TASTE: elegant and well-balanced with a pleasant and persistent note of blueberry and coffee.

Velvet & Lovely

The smooth pleasurable taste on the palette is always a pleasant surprise. The tannin has no bite and the flavor just perfection. This can be enjoyed by itself or with any delicate or robust dish from Pomodoro to Vitello. I am grateful there exists those 600 acres of soil and a winemaker of such careful attention to detail. The additional aging is so impressive. This is my go to table wine and gift to friends. Thank you Daniel
