Perfumed on a nose thriving with aromas of pear, strawberry shortcake, melon, and rose petals. Great complexity followed by creamy and layered texture, brioche and pink grapefruit, and a savory mineral finish befitting a proper Champagne.
This is one of our favorite imports, a proper Champagne from a small, family-owned estate.
Veuve Doussot is located at Noé-les-Mallets, a charming village in the heart of the Côte-des-Bar district. This area is closer in distance to Chablis than to the centre of the Champagne region, with a warmer microclimate ideal for Pinot Noir. The soils of Veuve Doussot are rich with both clay and Kimmeridgian limestone, less of the chalky soils found further North. Small family producer of 50 years on this estate. The Brut Selection is 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay.
