Castelli del Grevepesa Winery | Tuscany
Castelli del Grevepesa is an Italian wine cooperative formed of 18 Tuscan winegrowers who focus primarily on the cultivation of Sangiovese grapes. This small selection of winegrowers is based in locations across the Chianti Classico region, including the respected wine-producing areas of Panzano, Lamole, and Greve.
The cooperative's history dates back to 1965. Founder Gualtiero Armando Nunzi established the estate with a view to ensuring the future prosperity of Tuscan viticulture through the collaboration of some of Chianti Classico's foremost winegrowers. Following harvest, the grapes are transferred to Castelli del Grevepesa's central winery where they are made in to a portfolio of wines under the supervision of a single general manager, agronomist, and oenologist.
Grevepesa's range of classic Tuscan wines is underpinned by its Chianti Classico wines, including its highest-level Riserva and Gran Selezione offerings.
Their wines have good price-quality ratios and represent the grape varieties and appellation well.
