Al Cantara Winery | Mt Etna | Sicily

The Al-Cantàra vineyards are located in Contrada Feudo S. Anastasia (SP 89) in the territory of Randazzo (Catania) at about 620 m above sea level, on an area of 20 hectares, 15 those vineyards. The cultivated vines are the native ones Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Carricante, whose vineyards date back to 1965 and which constitute the ampelography base of D.O.C. Etna, as well as other varieties such as Pinot Noir, Grecanico, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Ciao Daniel has visited Al Cantara twice. It's a wonderful experience. I arrived in Cantania and rented an auto and drove up Mt Etna to the winery, passing through the town on Randazzo. I had lunch on all foods grown on Mt Etna. The Vineyards are all black lava sand and rocks. 

The wines are all highly regarded and unique. The labels do focus on art and the wine focus on the concentration of flavors.
